Student Inquiry and Web 2.0

Today's Workshop

In the afternoon session (1:00pm to 3:00pm) we are breaking into six or seven teams in various rooms around campus and then again into smaller groups (2-3 people), each with a computer. There is a facilitator in each room to help the groups get organized, keep on the timeline and offer assistance. This is an opportunity to have hands-on exploration of these tools and collaboratively discuss how they can be used to support inquiry learning.

Time Schedule:
You will be exploring three Web 2.0 tools:
1:00pm to 1:35 -- Evernote
1:40pm to 2:15pm -- Diigo
2:20pm to 2:55 pm --- Glogster

Tasks:
  1. Based on the Stripling Inquiry Model, which phase could this tool support and why?
  2. Looking at the AASL Standards for the 21st Century Learner, what 2 or 3 indicators would this tool support?
  3. Write a brief description of how you would use this tool to support learning, noting the curriculum area and grade level?
  4. Post your answers to the three tasks on the appropriate wiki page listed on the right.
  5. Choose a spokesperson and be ready to share your thoughts with the larger group

You can organize your teams in anyway you see best, but remember you only have approximately 1/2 hour to explore each tool and write up your tasks on the the wiki page.
